A downloadable game

 You’re a single, lonely, and perhaps just a little bit desperate individual. You find yourself given the opportunity of a lifetime, however. Date Show takes place in a purgatory-like realm where the dead are given the chance to woo the living for the grand prize of reincarnation. You unexpectedly find yourself bachelor/bachelorette to a group of charming, and somewhat familiar, undead contestants - who knew the afterlife was just like reality TV?

Goal

Players need to be able to gain the most points in order to win; you will be able to gain points by being bachelor/ette and a contestant. If you are a Bachelor/ette you must correctly guess the contestants identity, if you are a Contestant you must be chosen as the date. 

Guessing an identity correctly: 1 point for each contestant

Winning the round as a contestant: 2 points

Set up 

Players must choose amongst themselves who will be Bachelor/ette first, second, third, and so on; Every player will get a chance to play as the Bachelor/ette. 

At this point the contestants will choose a number order in which they will choose an identity for each other. Think of this process as circle, for example: 

Contestant 1 -> Contestant 2 -> Contestant 3 -> Contestant 1

Players will need to utilize the Private Message function in Discord in order to give their partner an identity. This identity must be a historical figure that is deceased. A recommendation list can be found at the bottom of the page.

The Bachelor/ ette may choose from a list of prompts to question the contestants, this can be found at the bottom of the page. 

Turn Structure

Time will be given for the contestants to research their assumed identity.

The Round will begin with the contestants giving a 30 second introduction without mentioning their name. 

The Bachelor/ette will ask the contestants up to 5 general questions in which each contestant will be given time to respond. 

At the end of questioning the Bachelor/ette will choose their date, and try to guess the identity of the contestants.

Rules

  • Players must not reveal their identity to the bachelor/ette directly or indirectly ( ex. You’re Abraham Lincoln and you say “ Hi my name rhymes with shabraham Dincoln” )
  • Contestants and Bachelor/ette can look up historical figures on Google, Bing, Yahoo, ect.
  • Identities must be famous, dead historical figures.
  • Players must act in character for their identity, no purposefully misleading the Bachelor/ette.
